Video Walkthrough
When setting up the EDGE Replay with your 3 Point Wireless Network, it is strongly recommended to start with the Pressbox first, then the sideline, and finish up with the endzone. This is simply to make it easier to catch mistakes early and reduce the number of times you need to walk across the field.
3 Point Wireless Network Setup
Network Setup: Pressbox
Equipment Overview - Pressbox Kit:
1.) Extension Cable 2.) Router Power Adapter 3.) EDGE Box Power Adapter 4.) Pressbox Router 5.) EDGE Box Ethernet Cable |
6.) EDGE Box 7.) Pressbox iPad Antenna 8.) Pressbox Bridge Antenna 9.) Sony Handicam + Tripod 10.) Pressbox Bridge Antenna Tripod (not pictured) |
Step 1: Power up the Pressbox Kit
Simply plug the provided extension cord into an AC outlet inside the pressbox.
Step 2: Attach the Pressbox Bridge to the Tripod
Using the mounting device, attach the Pressbox Bridge Antenna to the tripod as shown below. Angle this antenna in between the Endzone and Sideline kits.
Step 3: Suction Cup the Pressbox iPad Antenna to a Window
Take the iPad antenna and use the suction cup on the back to stick it to a window in the press box and aim it towards the coaches inside. See the photo below for how it should look.
Note: If you cannot suction cup the antenna to a window, you can hang it elsewhere in the press box. The photo below is a good example of this.
Important: All iPads connected to the Pressbox network will need to be within 15 Feet of the antenna. Any further and you will have issues with lag and latency.
Step 4: Connect the Antenna into the Pressbox Router
Connect the black Ethernet cables from the antennas into the pressbox router, into the ports labeled "Antenna" with the black dots. They are interchangeable, so you can plug either antenna into those ports. See the photo below for what it should look like when you're done:
Step 5: Setup your Sony Camera
Note: If you have already done this previously, go ahead and move on to Step 6
First we will check some settings on your Camera.
Open the Camera's Menu | ![]() |
Go to Setup (The icon with the toolbox): | ![]() |
Scroll down until you reach HDMI Resolution: | ![]() |
If it isn't already set to it, change the HDMI Resolution to "Auto", or 720p | ![]() |
After that, scroll down until you reach "Power Save" | |
If it isn't already, set this to "Off" This will prevent the camera from falling asleep while you're filming |
Step 6: Mounting and Powering your Camera
First, mount your Sony Camera to your tripod:
Next, find the Sony Camera power cable and wall plug.
Connect the wall plug to an AC outlet in the press box. Then connect the USB female end to the USB cable on the back of your Camera, as pictured below:
Step 7: Setup the EDGE Replay box
First thing you will do is connect the power cable for your EDGE Replay box. You will take the MicroUSB end of the EDGE Box power adapter and put it into the port labeled "Power In", like so:
Next, connect the HDMI cable from the Sony Camera to the HDMI In port.
Note: If it is not already connected, connect the blue Ethernet cable to the EDGE Box and Pressbox Router.
Step 8: Verify
Once this is complete, connect your iPad to the Sport Scope network and verify that you can see Pressbox - Ready. You can do this by opening the menu on the left and tapping on Cameras. See photo below:
If you see "pressbox - Not Connected" on this page, stop and review these steps to ensure everything is connected properly.
Network Setup: Sideline
Equipment Overview - Sideline Kit:
1.) Battery 2.) Sideline Router 3.) Router Power Adapter 4.) Antenna Tripod |
5.) Booster Panel 6.) Bridge Antenna 7.) Sideline iPad Antenna |
Pictured above is your Sideline Kit. This is the kit that the coaches on the sideline will connect to.
Step 1: Set the Sideline Kit between the 20-25yd line
Note: If you're setting up for an Away game, you'd set up your Sideline station on the 25 Yard Line that is adjacent to the End of the field where your Endzone will be set up.
DO NOT set up your Sideline and Endzone on opposite ends of the field.
Step 2: Attach the Antennas to their tripod
Using the provided mounts and velcro, attach your antennas to your tripod. It will look like this when you are done, except that the round Bridge antenna will likely be lower on your tripod.
Note: You may need to connect the booster panel to the iPad antenna. Simply screw the 2 cables on the base of the booster panel onto the threaded tips of the iPad antenna
Step 3: Connect the antennas to the router
Connect the black Ethernet cables from the antennas into the sideline router, into the ports labeled "Antenna." They are interchangeable, so you can plug either antenna into those ports.
Step 4: Turn on the sideline Battery
On your Router Battery there is a toggle switch to turn on the AC outlet port on it. Switch this into the "ON" position to give power to your router. This will provide power to the router. See the picture below:
Step 5: Angle the Antennas
The Sideline Bridge Antenna needs to be aimed directly at the Pressbox Bridge Antenna. The Booster antenna needs to be facing down the sideline away from your Endzone tower.
Step 6: Verify
Once this is complete, connect your iPad to the Sport Scope Sideline network and verify that you can see the Pressbox camera. Just like before, open the menu on the left and tap on Cameras to check the status of the camera. See photo below:
If you see "pressbox - Not Connected" on this page, stop and review these steps to ensure everything is connected properly.
Endzone Replay Network Setup
Equipment Overview - Endzone Kit:
1.) POE Injector 2.) EDGE Box 3.) Battery |
4.) Bridge Antenna 5.) Sony Handicam (not pictured) 6.) Monitor (not pictured) |
Endzone Setup:
Step 1: Connect the EDGE Box to the Endzone Battery.
Use the provided USB cable to connect the orange EDGE box from the power port to the USB port on the battery.
Step 2: Connect the Endzone Battery to the white POE Injector.
Step 3: Plug Bridge Antenna and EDGE Box into the POE Injector
Connect the black Ethernet cable from the Bridge Antenna into the POE Injector on the port labeled "POE" in red (black sticker). Then connect the blue Ethernet cable from the EDGE Box into the other port (blue sticker). See photos below for reference:
Step 4: Connect the HDMI cable from your Endzone Camera into the EDGE Box
Locate the bottom HDMI end from the cable that is running down your Endzone Tower from the camera on top. Connect this HDMI connector into the "Connect Camera" port on the orange EDGE box.
Step 5: Connect an HDMI Cable from the EDGE Box to your Endzone Camera Monitor
Use a standard HDMI cable to connect from the HDMI Out port on the orange EDGE box to the HDMI port on your Endzone Camera monitor screen. The EDGE Box functions as a pass-through so that you can deliver the video feed to the replay system and see what the camera sees from the top of the tower.
Step 6: Attach the Bridge Antenna to the Tower
Make sure to angle the Bridge Antenna upwards directly toward the Pressbox Bridge antenna.
Step 7: Switch on the battery to power the POE Injector and Bridge Antenna
On your Endzone Battery there is a toggle switch to turn on the AC outlet port on it. Switch this into the "ON" position to give power to your antenna. See the picture below:
It will take about 2 minutes for the antenna to power up completely. Pay attention to the lights along the rim of the Bridge antenna. Once it is fully powered and has connected to the Pressbox Bridge antenna, you will see a total of 6 lights on it. 4 Blue lights to show the signal, a gap, and then 2 more lights to show the power and link status.
See the picture below to see what the lights should look like:
If your antenna does not have all 6 lights: double-check that the endzone bridge antenna is aimed at the pressbox.
If you have all 4 signal lights but one of the bottom lights aren't on, that means that the antenna isn't reading the Endzone Camera. Make sure the Smart Camera Head is powered on and that the Ethernet cable is connected firmly.
Step 8: Verify
Once this is complete, connect your iPad to the Sport Scope Sideline network and verify that you can see both the Pressbox and Endzone camera. Just like before, open the menu on the left and tap on Cameras to check the status of the camera. See photo below:
If you see "endzone - Not Connected" on this page, stop and review these steps to ensure everything is connected properly.
Congratulations, you're all done! Now you can make your game and start filming.
