Watch our step-by-step video guide:
Part 1: Ensure your Clips are Downloaded
Be sure to review the game you'd like to upload for Blue Download Arrows on the iPad you're going to Upload from. There should be NO BLUE ARROWS REMAINING before you Share your Game.
What are the blue download arrows and how do I get rid of them?
- These arrows indicate a play that hasn't been downloaded to this iPad. If a play of EITHER ANGLE has the blue download arrow it WILL NOT upload.
- Any plays with the arrow likely still exists on your Blue Endzone Pan/Tilt Head and/or your Orange EDGE Box(es).
- You MUST download these plays onto the iPad before uploading.
- We recommend completing this step at the end of a game while the equipment is still set up and running:
- Simply scroll through all the clips and tap the arrow for any plays that haven't downloaded.
It should download quickly and the arrow will disappear. If you have more than one angle MAKE SURE TO SWITCH TO THE OTHER ANGLE and repeat.
- Simply scroll through all the clips and tap the arrow for any plays that haven't downloaded.
If the equipment is no longer running, it can be assembled into a condensed setup in order to download these missing plays more easily:
Part 2: Share the Game from the Sport Scope App
Once you know you have the full game downloaded:
- Go to the Games page of the Sport Scope App
- Hit the Select Button in the top right.
- Then, select the game you'd like to export.
- Tap Share and then To QwikCut, and when the popup appears:
Confirm the Sport Scope Folder is selected.
If it is not go to "On My iPad" and then Select the Sport Scope folder.
Then hit "Open" to start uploading the game.
Part 3: Ensure you are connected to the Internet
Ensure you have an internet connection. Sport Scope networks do not have an internet connection.
If you are not on the internet, you will see this message
If you see this, go to the iPad settings and check you are on a Wi-Fi network that has internet access.
Some schools block certain websites; if you are connected to school Wi-Fi and having connection issues, try using a cell phone hotspot or upload them on a different Wi-Fi somewhere else.
Part 4: Uploading to QwikCut
- Login to QwikCut with your email and password and click submit
Do I need to login with my email and password every time?
No you do not. The email and password input boxes will show up every time but QwikCut usually keeps you logged in from the last session. You can tell if you're still logged in if you see your username in the top left here:
If you're still logged in, all you need to do is tap on the upload icon here to proceed to the next step:
- Find the game you want to upload on the left panel
- If you have not created the game in QwikCut yet, you may do so by selecting Add Game above
- Click on that game which will open the drop down
- Then click on the file (it has a circle to the left which will be filled in once it's selected)
Now that your game is selected,
- Select an angle to upload first (in this case, we are uploading the Endzone).
- If your game has multiple angles, simply select one of them, and we'll come back for the other(s) later.
- Click on the dashed box
- Select Choose Files
This opens the folder where your Sport Scope games will appear,
- Pick the folder of the game you are trying to upload
- Select the folder of the angle we chose before (in this case, we are doing Endzone)
- All angles you recorded will be in game folder. They are stored in their own separate subfolders as well as the ODK file
- For some versions of iOS tap Select in the top right or on other versions of iOS you only need to tap on a play to give it the blue checkmark
- Then tap on the Select All button to give all the clips the blue checkmarks:
- Once you have all video files selected, tap Open.
- This will take you back to the first QwikCut screen with all of your uploaded clips for that angle.
Uploading a Second Angle (optional)
While that Upload is queued, we can choose to upload any other angles (in this case it will be the Pressbox angle)
- Select "Add Another Angle"
- Scroll Down and select what angle you are uploading
- We only have two angles, so in this case, we will choose "Wide" as our Sideline angle's name
- Click on the dashed box
- Select Choose Files
This opens the folder of Endzone clips we have already uploaded
- Click the Back button in the top left.
- Pick the folder of the game you are trying to upload
- This time we are uploading the Sideline Angle from Sport Scope and calling it "Wide" in QwikCut
- Repeat the same process as before
If you have another angle to upload you will follow the steps above again, but with the third angle.
Once you have all angles and their clips queued, click "Start Upload" at the bottom right
You will see the clips begin to upload
Once the status bars have completed, the game should be available on QwikCut.
