The Cameras page of the Sport Scope app will say "Endzone - Expired" or "Pressbox - Expired" once per season when your replay fee hasn't been paid.
To pay your renewal or switch to a no-replay license, call Sport Scope at 888-335-7875.
If you've already paid your Renewal Fee you must follow these steps to renew your system:
Watch our step-by-step video guide:
STEP 1 - Connect your iPad to the Internet
Go to your iPad wifi settings and select an Internet connection. Please note that if you are currently connected to your Sport Scope wifi, you are NOT connected to the internet.
What types of networks will work?
Connect to a network that has internet such as:
- a personal home wifi network
- a public or school network
- or a cell phone Hotspot
STEP 2 - Download Your New License
Go to sportscope.com/update in Safari (or your standard iPad browser)
You can also get there from our website by going to More > Renew Your License
Also please note that this part of the process usually only has to be completed on ONE iPad.
Once you're there tap on the GET SPORT SCOPE LICENSE button.
A pop-up will appear. Tap Download.
Next, tap on your browser's Downloads icon, which in Safari looks like an arrow with a circle around it.
Then, tap on the file named "featurelicense".
If done correctly, your Sport Scope app should immediately open with a pop-up saying that your license has been successfully updated.
STEP 3 - Set the Equipment Up to Apply the License
If your system is fully set up, connect back to your Sport Scope wifi, open the Sport Scope app, and Go to the Cameras page.
As long as ALL of your angles are fully connected, it should automatically begin pushing the license from your iPad onto your blue or orange computer box(es).
It still says Expired, Not Connected, or Camera Offline
This process may take up to 90 seconds, and don't be alarmed if your camera status cycles from "Expired" to "Not Connected" to "Camera Offline" and back again.
(If you haven't completed this process since before 2021, your camera may be stuck on "Expired" and you may have to tap where it says "Upgrade" on each angle. More information on what that looks like can be found HERE).
If the device is stuck on Camera Offline or bouncing between Camera Offline and Ready then go HERE to resolve.
Once all cameras say "Ready" you're good to go!
Make Sure Sport Scope App is Up to Date
Make sure your app and iOS are up-to-date. Our current app version is: 3.36.354, which can be found at the very top of the screen in all pages of the Sport Scope app:
How do I update my iOS and/or the Sport Scope app?
To update iOS to at least version 15, go to your device's Settings > General > Software Update.
If the app is not up-to-date, go to the App Store on your iPad and search for the Sport Scope app
(not the Sport Scope Live app)
If the app needs an update, it will say "UPDATE".
If it simply says "OPEN" (as pictured below) your app is fully up to date!
If for some reason you are unable to update the app from the App Store, we recommend deleting the app and then redownloading it new from the App Store again (WARNING: make sure you've shared any Games that still need exported before doing this to avoid data loss).
Still Expired after Renewing your License?
Check to make sure ALL of your camera angles on the Cameras page are the latest version: 3.16.829. Tap on each angle to see its version number. If one or more is out of date, Repeat Steps 3 and 4 or go HERE for upgrading manually.
If it still says Expired and you're certain you paid your license, there may be a mismatch with your identifiers and our database. Connect your Smart/Wireless Head and/or EDGE box(es) to the network and:
Step 1: Go to the System Info page and select the Scan button in the top right.
Step 2: Take a picture of this screen, notably the identifier numbers
Step 3: Text the picture to 509-204-3270 and explain the issue, also providing your name and school/organization. Or email support@sportscope.com.
