In order to use an iPad Ethernet Adapter,
first determine if your iPad uses Lightning or USB-C to charge
While Lightning is the most common for the majority of iPads,
Pro series iPads and other newer iPads use USB-C.
You will need a different adapter depending on your iPad's connection type.
If you can't visually inspect your iPad, a list of iPads and their connectors can be found HERE.
Once you've confirmed that you have the correct adapter, here's how to use it in 4 easy steps:
- On the iPad you'll be using with the iPad ethernet adapter:
Go to iPad settings > Wi-Fi > Turn Wi-Fi Off

- Insert an Ethernet Cord into the 4th port from the right on your Router.
(Do NOT insert into the 5th port from the right, this port will NOT work)

- Connect the Ethernet Cord to the iPad Ethernet Adapter, and connect the adapter to the iPad.

- Verify the Wi-Fi status in the Sport Scope app says "Ethernet"
Warning: Some iPads may not work with certain Adapters because there is a backend setting glitch in the iPad preventing connection.
This can usually be fixed by factory resetting your iPad (At your own risk - make sure you have all your passwords and data saved elsewhere)
These settings can be found in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content and Settings
(IMPORTANT NOTE: Selecting "Reset All Settings" WILL NOT WORK; You must select "Erase all content and Settings")
Please be Certain that your Pressbox Router or Sideline Switch has space to plug in. A Wide and Tight configuration in the pressbox may be using all 4 functional ports.
