IMPORTANT - For best performance live stream should only be viewable on 1 IPAD ONLY - the controlling iPad that will start/stop recordings. Additionally the live stream should be on for ENDZONE ONLY.
Check 1: Open the Collapsed Controls
After you first start a game, the controls will be collapsed on the Home Screen. Tap the arrow in the bottom right hand corner on the controlling iPad only. This will start the live stream.
If you have a 2-angle Smart Camera system and the Endzone angle is in the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window - usually in the top left - tap on the PiP box to switch angles so that the Endzone is in the main view. Tap where the arrow below points:
The Pressbox angle will be in the PiP window and will display only the camera's status. There will not be a live feed for the Pressbox angle.
Check 2: Check Live Stream Toggle on the Preferences Page
If the live feed is still not on for the controlling iPad, check the Enable Live Stream toggle* on the Preferences page* for that iPad only. If off turn on.
*The Enable Live Stream toggle on the Preferences page controls the live feed for this specific iPad. For iPads being used to view the Replay clips, we strongly recommend toggling this off. This will help prevent overloading the network with too many live feeds.
Check 3: Check to Make Sure the iPad is Compatible with Live View
If endzone - Ready is displayed in the center of the main home screen with the controls expanded on the right side and there is still no live feed, your iPad may be incompatible. Look closely at the center of the screen for a message that says: "This iPad cannot live stream."
If your iPad has this message then STOP HERE. It means that the iPad cannot view the live feed. In addition to this, it likely means that the iPad is unsupported and we strongly recommend you remove it from the system and replace it with a compatible model. Check our iPad compatibility chart HERE.
Check 4: Check your Control USBs
Check to make sure the two black USBs coming out of the bottom of your pan/tilt head are plugged in.
Check 5: Change Recording Type on AX Cameras
One major cause of seeing a Black Screen is an issue related to using a 4k camera and attempting to record in the wrong format.
NOTE: This issue will only occur when attempting to record to the camera's SD card when the recording format is set to the 4k format. If you do not record onto the camera itself, the black screen issue will not occur.
1. Use the touchscreen to access the menu
2. Select Image Quality/Size
3. Select File Format
4. Ensure the camera is set to AVCHD and not XAVC
Exit the menu
If it says completed you should be good to go!
